Batrep 3.5k CSM + SW vs IG + Eldar

Currently doing some changes to the blog and due to my "noob-ness" in html or rather lousy blogging skills, the blog is in some mess :(

Anyway played a big 3.5k pt game 2 vs 2 last wkend.

Mission: capture & control
Deployment: Spear head

IG deploy everything except the 3 devil dogs on table, while his Eldar ally decided to reserve everything. CSM and SW deploy mostly in cover due to the sheer amount of IG big guns. SW reserve the TWC and CSM reserve the DS suicide terminators. IG roll a 3 for seize initiative.

Heavy wep team was panic off by SW long fangs in 1st turn, most wolf guards move to the centre and marines top right flank. 1/2 colossus was wrecked by SW fire power.

Chaos LR went right in front of IG lines and pop smoke and due to insufficient firepower, the LR escape unharmed and berserkers inside were able to assault the IG firing line in turn 2, supported by DS terminators who help wep destroyed a colossus gun. Berserkers managed to kill off company command squad, a 20 guardsman squad but was cut down by IG mass 66 las gun shots and 36 blade storm shots. Chaos terminators continue to prove themselves by surviving assaults from tech servitors, rallied guardsman and melta guns from veterns. Chaos termins continue to be a thorn throughout the game in the IG/Eldar side, Contesting IG objective and killing any troops that try to claim it back.

Due to lousy rolls, many of IG and eldar vehicles only appear in turn 3 and 4. Which was systematically destroyed by the marines army. Fire prisms shots all save by superior power armour and cover saves!

Lash sorcerer, lash guardsman out for the TWC to charged, wolf guards decimate 6 eldar jetbikes at the flank trying to contest/claim marines objectives. 3 Devil dogs were all destroyed when trying to flush the chaos marines out holding marine's objective. TWC continue their blood lust by going into IG firing line to kill more veterns trying to claim back IG objective.

Seer council in wave serpent moved flat out but was assaulted by a dreadnought and Daemon prince and 6 chaos marines, and wrecking it killing everyone inside.

In turn 6, much of Eldar was destroyed or killed, IG had a surviving colossus which suffered wep destroyed, stun , shaken , immob numerous times but was repaired back everytime. The colossus survived the battle hehehe.

Game end on turn 6.
Objectives: 1-0
Victory to CSM + SW

Batrep 1k orks vs 1k sm, 1k eldar (no pics)

Played 2 small games this weekend , 1 against SM and 1 against eldar. No pictures or batrep pics. (lazy hehehe)

Orks vs SM (1k)
Mission: Capture & control
Deployment: pitch battle (was DOW lol...)

Both players put their objectives behind their deployment zone. SM wiping orks troops early in the game prevented any chance of victory for orks. SM landspeeder storm with scouts nearly capture orks objective (only 2" away). While orks warboss +nobz clear out the tactical marines holding the SM objective.

Game end on turn 5, with a roll of 2.
0 - 0 objective DRAW.

Funny moments: Tech marine running away from warboss got shot in the back by warboss TL shoota. (tech marine ran from 3rd storey ruin to gnd floor but could not escape the wrath of the warboss.)

Orks vs Eldar (1k)
Mission: Capture & control (again lol...)
Deployment: DOW...

Slugga boyz on trukk with warboss + nobz on B.wagon rush the eldar objective, clearing the wraithguard and storm guardians holding eldar objective. While Seer council in wave serpent clear out the shoota boyz and lootas defending the orks objective.

Game end on turn 6, as only non scoring troops was left on both sides and no chance of wiping each other out due to the distance apart.
0 - 0 objective DRAW.

Funny moments: Farseer fail reroll invul saves consecutively! (led by example goes wrong)

The small games prevented much option for the armies, bringing only 2 troops each. Alot of firepower was concentrated on eliminating the scoring units and resulting in draw for both sides.

Planetstrike 4.5k battle (orks + IG + Iyandan eldar vs SW + SM + eldar)

Played my biggest 40k planet strike game last wk. It was a farewell game for our gaming grp member Sam (Iyandan player) who was leaving for Aus.

Mission: Desperate assault
Atk strategems: planet quake bomb
def strategems: void shield, machine spirit
objectives : 3 bastions

Defers: 1.5k*3 (orks,IG,Iyandan Eldar)
Atkers: 1.5k*3 (SW,SM,Eldar)

The game was stop at end of turn 3 as it was running late and to catch the last train and work the next day some had to leave.

Highlights of battle:

-Canis wipeout a squad of banshees with his thunderwolf cavalry.
-IG firing power took out the thunderwolf cavalry, leaving Canis alone.
-IG mass las guns took out another chunk of fenrisian wolves claiming objectives.
-Prince Yriel charge Canis wolfborn and killed him easily.

-ork warboss killed 4 thunderwolf cavalry + a wolflord on thunderwolf. warboss dying in the process.
-Stompa arrived in def turn 1 and killed 3 damned legionnaire + 2 fenrisian wolves, wep destroying 1 landspeeder and stunning another landspeeder.
-2 multi-melta landspeeders wreck the stompa in 1 turn rolling 3 sixes and 1 five.
-Ork nobz arrived with battlewagon and took out eldar bright lances firing base.
-16 shoota boyz mow down a squad of swooping hawks.

-Defenders' bastions was completely destroyed by eldar brightlances in turn2.
-IG bane wolves hose down some SM holding objectives.
-striking scorpians clean out a horde of fenrisian wolves claiming objectives.
-Wave serpent ramming an ironclad dreadnought and immobilzing it.
-Vulkan was hiding in atker's bastion the whole game hahaha. (i think)

Thats all I can remember, being the ork player I only could remember most of the orks battles.

End game (turn 3):
Defenders still hold 2 uncontested bastions at end of turn 3. VICTORY TO defenders.

Conclusion:
Very fun game, I find it pretty epic, big battles does change the game alot. Tons of dice thrown around and it was very brutal, lots of models die in just a turn. Future big battle games need to be schedule earlier so it can be completed.
